All about Poplar Therapies

Poplar Therapies was founded in 2024 by compassionate and driven Occupational Therapist Hannah Cook, we are based in Barrowford, Lancashire, covering the North West. Poplar Therapies strives to provide individualised and innovative Occupational Therapy and Sensory Integration Therapy services, to help with everyday activities that people do as individuals, in families and within their communities. Experience across the lifespan (from 0-110 years) enables Poplar Therapies to support clients throughout their life. In addition to focusing on the needs of our clients, we always consider those meaningful to them by adopting a family-centred approach.

At Poplar Therapies we always take into consideration a person’s strengths and aspirations when creating meaningful and relevant goals. We provide detailed individualised Occupational Therapy and Sensory Integration Therapy assessments and recommendations to optimise a person’s well-being, enriching lives by providing our clients with exactly what they need. At Poplar Therapies, in addition to clinical reasoning, activity analysis and clinical observations, we have access to standardised assessments, incorporating a body of evidence and justification for therapy recommendations that are bespoke to our clients’ needs.

All about Hannah

Hannah graduated as an Occupational Therapist from the University of Bradford with First Class Honors and has over 20 years of experience working in both Adult and Pediatric Occupational Therapy settings. In addition to being an experienced neurological Occupational Therapist, Hannah has a Postgraduate Diploma in Sensory Integration and is a registered Advanced Sensory Integration Practitioner.

Before founding Poplar Therapies Hannah enjoyed leadership and clinical roles in the NHS, Social Services and in Independent OT Practice. Hannah is dedicated to supporting the neurological rehabilitation of adults and children who have Acquired Brain Injury, neurological conditions, trauma related injuries, and those with mixed diagnosis including Autism, ADHD, Cerebral Palsy, sensory processing difficulties, Muscular Dystrophy, and Developmental Coordination Disorder.
